The Law Library maintains a collection of assigned textbooks for student use. These books are now kept behind the Circulation Desk and can be checked out for 2 hours. For a list of this semester's assigned textbooks, see the Textbooks page of the Academic Success Guide.
Because these are high-demand items, their loan periods are short and strict. Overdue reserve materials are billed $2.00 for the first hour past due and $5.00 for each additional hour. To avoid being charged a late fee, make sure to return the textbook to a Circulation staff member.
If your class is longer than 2 hours or you would like to take your reading home with you, you can use one of the library’s scanners to scan and email yourself a PDF of your reading. For scanner instructions, visit the Library Tech page of this Guide.
Visit the Circulation Desk to borrow a copy of The Bluebook or the ALWD Guide to Legal Citation. Due to high demand, citation manuals are leant for two hours.
Many professors provide previously administered exams to use as practice. Some upload their practice exams to Carmen or Microsoft OneDrive; others print out physical copies, which you can check out from the Circulation Desk. Ask your professor which method they use.
The law library maintains physical copies of the most popular study aid series and subjects. The study aid collection is kept in the Reserve Room. Students can use these materials within the Reserve Room or check them out for a one-day loan.
