Printing and Scanning

UniPrint Printers

All printing at Ohio State is handled by UniPrint and paid for using your BuckID. To add funds to your BuckID, visit buckid.osu.edu and click "Manage Your BuckID."

To send a document from your laptop, tablet, or phone to a Uniprint printer, use the Follow Me Printing App, available on the App Store and Google Play, or use the web-enabled version at go.osu.edu/mobileprint. Instructions on how to upload and print your documents using a UniPrint printer are available at uniprint.osu.edu/students. There you can also find UniPrint's Refund Request Form.

Printing-related office supplies (staplers, paper clips, etc.) are available on the counter next to the UniPrint printers.

Lexis Printers

Printing from Lexis+ to a Lexis printer is free. To print a document off Lexis+, click the Print icon, and select "LexisPrinter" under Print Specs.

KIC Scanners

The law library has two KIC scanners: one in the Reserve Room and one outside the Library Administrative Suite. Follow the on-screen prompts to scan pages from a book or other document. Once finished, either save the scan to a USB or email it to yourself.

For instructions on how to use the KIC Scanners, either watch the instruction slideshow that plays on the scanners themselves or follow this step-by-step guide:

  1. Place your item face-up on the KIC scanner bed. For the best quality scans, make sure the item is straight and centered.
  2. On the scanner's touch screen, select the type of material you wish to scan (e.g., book, newspaper). For advanced scan settings, click the green cog button.
  3. Press the Scan button, which will prompt you to accept the scanner's copyright notice. Click the Accept button to begin scanning.
  4. Press the Scan button to continue scanning as many pages as desired.
  5. If you are unhappy with a scan, delete it by clicking the red X button in the upper righthand corner of the image. If you would like to recompose your content (e.g., cropping, rotating), select the compose button.
  6. When you are happy with your scan, you can send the PDF file via email or plug in your USB drive and save to USB.
  7. Once you have sent or saved your scanned material, clear the KIC station for the next user by pressing the End Session button.

Microform Readers

The law library's microform collection can be viewed using our microform readers, which are available on the first floor. To schedule a demonstration, please contact the law library.

Charging Your Devices

Extension cords can be found on or near study tables, and at least one three-prong outlet is available at every carrel, study room, and standing desk. Having trouble finding you carrel's outlet? You can find it under the carrel's top shelf to the right of the carrel light. For a more flexible charging solution, visit the Circulation Desk to borrow a power bank. Power banks can charge any device with a USB-C port.

The law library also has a Westlaw mobile device charging station, which can charge up to eight devices at a time and is compatible with most Apple and Android phones. You can find the charging station in the computer lab.
