Clinic and Externship Success

Introduction

This guide is intended to help Moritz Law clinic and externship students learn about research strategies and resources that can help them with their assignments, client work, and other projects. Click on the tabs on the left to find out more about these tips and resources!

Legal Database Usage for Clinics and Externships

Moritz Law Students have continued access to Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg over the summer and during the school year without interruption. Please note that students are limited to using Westlaw for non-commercial work, including coursework, unpaid externship work, non-profit or clinical work, research assistant assignments, and law review or moot court research. Students also have continuous access to the other databases made available through the Moritz Law Library and OSU Libraries, including HeinOnline and ProQuest Congressional. Check with your employer or supervisor before using your law school database accounts to perform research for any non-law school supervised work.
