Please read on for important information both for graduating and continuing students!

1. Borrowing and Returning Materials (Graduating Students)

Please remember to return all borrowed materials! Contact Kaylie Vermillion, our Circulation Manager, with any questions about fines.

Alumni who wish to borrow materials can obtain a courtesy library card from the Circulation Desk, which allows them to check out up to 10 items for a 3-week period, renewable up to 6 times unless requested by another library user.

2. Access to the Building (Graduating Students)

Alumni continue to have 24-hour BuckID access to Drinko Hall and the Moritz Law Library through the bar exam. After that, alumni may use the library during any of our operating hours. [The library may be undergoing improvements this summer, which could create disturbances. We will post more information once the schedule is finalized; look for flyers at the library entrance.]

3. Access to Wireless Networks and OSU Databases (Information for Both Graduating and Continuing Students)

Alumni have continued access to Bloomberg, Lexis, and Westlaw for a limited period after graduating. Bloomberg access automatically continues for six months after graduation. Lexis access automatically continues to the end of the current year. Beginning on July 1, 2023, a graduate’s Lexis student ID will give them access to the Graduate Home Page, and students can also choose from four gifts featured on this home page (note that a graduate’s student rewards points also expire after June 30). Westlaw access continues for 60 hours per month for 18 months following graduation, but only for students who register for the Grad Elite program. To sign up, log into https://www.lawschool.tr.com and choose “Grad Elite Status” from the drop-down menu.

Access to the OSU wireless network continues for two years after graduation. After that, alumni may use our public computers to access databases like HeinOnline and ProQuest Congressional.

Students returning to Moritz in the fall retain access to all three databases over the summer without interruption. Please note that continuing students are limited to using Westlaw for non-commercial work, including coursework, research assistant assignments, law review or moot court research, non-profit or clinical work, or an unpaid externship.

4. Law Librarians (Information for Both Graduating and Continuing Students)

Moritz alums and current students can reach out to the Law Librarians at any time for research guidance. Visit moritzlaw.osu.libguides.com/AskALibrarian to find their hours and contact information.
