Lawrence H. Stotter developed an extensive collection of books related to the history of family law during the course of his career. Soon after retiring, Stotter reached out to then Associate Dean for Information Services and Director of the Law Library, Bruce S. Johnson, about donating his collection. In 2006, the The Ohio State University Law Library graciously received the collection, which consists of more than 200 carefully curated volumes of a wide variety of materials on family law, published from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
A cornerstone of the collection (and Stotter's favorite piece) is The Lawes Resolutions of Womens Rights: Or, the Lawes Provisions for Woeman, which is the first English language work devoted solely to laws affecting women. This and other selected titles are featured below.
