Legal Research and Writing Success: Textbooks

This guide features resources to help you succeed in LAW I & II as well as any advanced legal research or writing courses you take while at Moritz College of Law.

Borrowing Books from the Moritz Law Library

Legal writing and research books are most often found in two locations in the law library:

The Reserve Room

Books in the Reserve Room can be checked out for two hours at a time. Overdue reserve items are billed $2.00 the first hour past due and $5.00 for each additional hour.

The Third Floor of the Law Library

Legal writing and research books in the general collection (i.e., on the third floor and mezzanine) are generally older editions of those books found in the Reserve Room. The standard loan period for these books is three weeks, and you can renew these materials.
